Beyond the Classroom Walls
Some snapshots from a visit to the corn maze in OK Falls. Our grades 1 & 5 had a fantastic field trip as they partnered up this year as big and little buddies. Afterwards, students enjoyed delicious kettle popcorn and hot chocolate. Thank you to our teachers and the PSG who helped support and encourage these activities!

Nurturing Curiosity and Innovation
Whether in the classroom, conducting experiments in the science lab, or designing robotics, here at St. Carlo Acutis Legacy Academy our students are encouraged to cultivate curiosity, establish connections and ask questions. At our Robotics class the 3D printers are hard at work printing out the chassis for our robots. Students design these components by measuring the electronic components. Fostering Environmental Stewardship
Our students enjoyed two fantastic field trips to the Max Lake Conservation Area with OASISS (Okanagan and Similkameen Invasive Species Society). They removed invasive thistle that will result in increased species diversity and improve the habitat for native wildlife. Students also planted a variety of native plants. Our grade 7 students had a fun and insightful visit last week at St. Carlo Acutis Legacy Academy. Students had the opportunity to discover the new campus for grade 8 & 9 students and enjoyed time with former Holy Cross schoolmates, who are now enjoying their first years of high school classes!

The Importance of Experiential Learning
Mrs. Hayden's class had a fantastic hike to the Adra Tunnel and Giants Head Mountain! We believe that exposure to natural settings plays a pivotal role in a well-rounded education. Our Hiking/Mapping elective class gives students the opportunity to take part in experiential learning, which complements students’ classroom instruction, challenging them to build confidence and leadership skills.
