Our students enjoyed two fantastic field trips to the Max Lake Conservation Area with OASISS (Okanagan and Similkameen Invasive Species Society). They removed invasive thistle that will result in increased species diversity and improve the habitat for native wildlife. Students also planted a variety of native plants. Our grade 7 students had a fun and insightful visit last week at St. Carlo Acutis Legacy Academy. Students had the opportunity to discover the new campus for grade 8 & 9 students and enjoyed time with former Holy Cross schoolmates, who are now enjoying their first years of high school classes!

Mrs. Hayden's class had a fantastic hike to the Adra Tunnel and Giants Head Mountain! We believe that exposure to natural settings plays a pivotal role in a well-rounded education. Our Hiking/Mapping elective class gives students the opportunity to take part in experiential learning, which complements students’ classroom instruction, challenging them to build confidence and leadership skills.

It was great to have the students gather at our school Virtues Awards assembly. This month we recognized the virtue of HOSPITALITY. Virtue addresses the inner self and how we relate to others and the world around us. Congratulations to all the students who were recognized!

Mrs. Haskins students make a joyful noise at music practice! Did you know that music education improves language skills, stimulates the brain, and enhances memory and focus in children? Our Music program offers a wide variety of instruments and vocal lessons for our students, including choir, idiophones, instruments and more. Welcome BACH students!

A day for students to celebrate indigenous culture. The South Okanagan Similkameen Métis Association was at our school in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. All the students participated in an enriching cultural experience. Cultural exploration stations were set up by SOSMA, where students learned about Métis hunting and trapping, jigging and fiddle music. Students enjoyed delicious Bannock before our closing assembly which featured wonderful dances
